Career Connect Southeast

Career Connect Southeast (CCSE) is one of nine regional networks across Washington state, in partnership with Career Connect Washington. The STEM Foundation serves as the backbone of the Network and, in partnership with ESD 123, is working to build an integrated career connected learning system within our region. Program outcomes are aligned with our region’s economic needs through cross-sector partnerships. Career Connect Southeast is defined by our ESD 123 boundaries – servicing 23 school districts in Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, Columbia, Asotin, and Garfield counties.

What is Career Connected Learning?

Career connected learning is a series of skill-based programs that help young people connect directly to education, credentials, and career opportunities. With a rising demand for post-high school credentials in high-paying careers, it is vital in Washington state to develop real-world skills to access opportunity on their own terms.

Career Connect Washington is statewide network of people and organizations that create and promote three types of career connected learning programs for young people to Explore, Prepare, and Launch themselves into college and careers.

Career Explore

Programs provide early exposure to potential careers. As early as elementary school, students can begin learning about how their interests are connected to jobs in various fields through activities such as career fairs and worksite tours.

Career Prep

Programs help young people identify personal likes, dislikes, and abilities through career-aligned classroom instruction (CTE) and hands-on experiences such as internships and recognized pre-apprenticeships programs.

Career Launch

Career Launch combines paid worksite experiences with classroom instruction, leading to credentials or progress towards a degree. Through registered apprenticeships and Career Launch program in K-12, CTC, and four-year college systems, students and young people become competitive job candidates.
